The piece features a lifelike frog and snake resting on a glazed, moss-textured green ground. Mafra, a pioneering ceramicist, developed a distinctly Portuguese interpretation of Palissy ware, marked by its vibrant glazes, naturalistic subjects, and signature mossy bases.
