This 19th-century rectangular-shaped Bothekan box is among John Derian's trove of handpicked vintage & antique goods. Featuring a pyramid-like structure, intricate carvings and wooden finial, this chest symbolically mirrors the architecture of Javanese temples and stupas. Each level consists of a drawer of decreasing size, traditionally used to organize various medicinal ingredients or small valuables.
